Hm. It could be an explanation of what I noticed recently about my second account, if the reason it got marked suspended is because I left it inactive for thirty days ... after I designated it cancelled
Saw Tumblr was trending at Twitter and the context turned out to be people announcing where they can be found if they fall victim to a fresh new round of arbitrary suspensions going on. Got curious and set out to contact Twitter to ask why my other account was suspended instead of, you know, cancelled as I requested. Opened a different browser where I’m not signed into my active account because I recently read that having more'n one account is considered Bad Now and I don’t feel safe drawing attention to the active one while talking with them about the suspended one.
You have to sign in to your suspended account to contact Support about the suspended account. But the login screen doesn’t recognize the account’s password, and the password reset screen doesn’t recognize the email address that was associated with the account. It’s possible I might have misremembered one, but it’s not worth considering that I misremembered both.
I suppose I could try contacting them from the active account and state that the reason I tried to cancel the second account was because I read there’s a single account policy now. But that isn’t why, and I probably gave them the real reason at the time. And I don’t feel safe drawing the attention.
Perhaps the failure of recognition of the password and of the email indicate that the account is actually cancelled. That’d be swell.
I suspect people looking for me on Twitter and not finding me would probably already know where else to look.
